"I Could Never Let You Go" was Song of the Day on The Current!!!!
HOLY MOTHER OF HELL.
Our song "I Could Never Let You Go" was featured as Song of the Day on the Current on December 1. What an incredible dream to be recognized for all the hard work that went into this song—I'm extremely humbled and grateful.
I find myself in tears a lot when I put music out or release something, because it's strangely emotional letting your "baby" out into the world. You work so hard on songs and spend months or years working on them, and then you hit a moment where you literally can't work on it anymore—you've done all you can to shape it. So it's a huge honor that after spending months working on this track that it gets recognized like this.
It's definitely the poppiest song on our upcoming album "Alien Fantasy" which is full of spacey, ethereal love songs, frenetic beats and a whole lotta hope for finding love in this universe and beyond. (a far cry from the subject matter on "Don't Fall in Love," but life is always full of twists and surprises that throw you into a new direction. It's nice to know that even if you're feeling horribly alone dating one person after the other, that it's fully possible you'll be caught off guard at any moment with a new adventure. we are never tethered to one moment or feeling for too long, which is good, bad, and just how fucking life goes.)
please add our song to your fave pop Spotify or Apple Music playlist so we may someday humbly make mid-sized dollars. and THANK YOU to the Current and everyone who has sent nice messages about the song. YOU KEEP US ALIVE.
YAY!!!! -katie
Animated video for "Party"
I spent 9 months on and off working on this animated/stop motion video for our new song "Party." I chose this song primarily because it's one of the shortest on the album and I was finished mixing/mastering it early on in the album process, but also because it's a fun lil bop.
I worked in Photoshop manually editing each moving part and exporting via shortcuts I designed on my keyboard. It was really cool diving into something new at a totally basic level and working within constraints. We have access to *so* much technology that it can seem overwhelming with the endless possibilities of creation, and it's fun and a bit of a relief to put constraints around what you're creating and only working within that realm.
I'm excited to animate more videos for this era—I've already started working on one in Illustrator this time, but I'm sure it will be much quicker this go round. Hope you love "Party!"
love, katie

Ice Cold album paintings
For the first DENNIS EP "Ice Cold," I cut out all of the album covers from hard, white paper and painted a different cover on each one, so our friends and fans could have a bit of art to display as well as a pop album to jam to in their own bedroom.
Ice Cold EP, 2013.
Don't Fall in Love TV installation
Here is the "Don't Fall in Love" installation I built for our Halloween show at Kitty Cat Klub on Oct. 27. So happy our fabulous fangirl Ani snapped a pic, because we totally forgot to.
Here's the process: I bought 3 tvs for like $2 each and a really old eMac for $13 that make up the screens here. I painted over the screens and then scratched out letters on the "Don't" and "Love" screens. The "Fall" screen is painted letters. The "in", which is on the eMac screen, is blacked out using fabric. The video playing on the screen is an interview from an old episode of the Sally Jesse Raphael talk show. She is talking to Zeena LaVey, who was a satanist back in the day and the daughter of Anton LaVey, the founder of the Church of Satan.
I made an electronic track called "Zeena Lavey: Satanist" last year after a hilarious post somewhere pointed out that Zeena looked exactly like Taylor Swift. That song then inspired us to make a hell-inspired pop album about bad dates and shitty relationships. HELL VIBEZ.
The picture above is dark, but underneath it is a mannequin body that I drilled a stand onto so it could be used to hold a tv. Now I've started to use it to hold my computer during sets. I love it so much and I'm very proud of my drill work. Totally gonna drill a buncha shit for the rest of my life now.

DENNIS on the Local Experiment
Watch us get ready for our "Don't Fall in Love" album release show over the 4th of July weekend. We spent a day and a half at my house with Tyler Aug from the Local Experiment workin' on all things Don't Fall in Love-y.
Don't Fall in Love
YO EVERYONE. Our first full-length album "Don't Fall in Love" is coming. Our good friend who is mixing it for us told us that he started playing some intense video game and eating a ton of pizza in between mixing and mastering, so it's probably gonna turn out amazing. Nothing like a little bit a pepperoni to get the hellpop juices flowing into a crazykool pop album.
Our album release show and party will be at Honey in NE Minneapolis on July 9. We are building our own props and working on our costumes and of COURSE rehearsing the tunes and a lil bit of choreography 4 U.
Until then, keep spinning our elektronik pop music in anticipation for the sickest pop album u'll ever hear come out of Minneapolis. Download it all 4 free because we luv u at dennismpls.bandcamp.com.
